A rare set of five vintage industrial embossing dies used to manufacture metal safety signs, comprising four “WAY OUT” plates and one “DANGER” plate.

These plates were originally used in a press to stamp or emboss metal safety signage for factories, workshops, or public buildings. When sheet metal was pressed against the die, the raised lettering would form the finished sign.

The plates feature raised lettering on the face and reversed lettering visible on the back, confirming their use as sign-making tooling rather than finished signs. They retain a wonderful aged industrial patina, developed through years of workshop use.

Sets like this rarely survive, particularly with multiple identical dies, which likely indicates they were used on a multi-station production press or in a factory producing large numbers of safety signs.

Today they make striking industrial décor pieces, wall art, or display items for workshops, studios, pubs, or loft interiors.
