xxLarge Moroccan Hand-Chased Brass Tray – 90cm – Mid 20th Centuryxx
A striking large Moroccan brass tray featuring intricate hand-chased arabesque decoration and a beautifully aged patina. The tray displays a traditional North African floral and geometric design, finely worked across the entire surface with detailed punch work and engraved motifs.
The wide rolled rim is also decorated with repeating border patterns, framing the elaborate central design. At an impressive 90 cm diameter, this is a substantial piece that works wonderfully as wall décor, a large serving tray, or a statement coffee table or ottoman tray.
Large trays of this size were often made in Moroccan workshops such as Fez or Marrakech during the mid-20th century, combining traditional craftsmanship with decorative export pieces that became popular in European interiors.
The tray retains a lovely natural aged brass patina which enhances the depth of the decoration and highlights the hand-worked detailing.
Condition
Good vintage condition overall.
There are a few small dents to the rim consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs. These do not affect the structure or overall appearance of the tray.
